The Story of Melt in Your Mouth

Hi, I am Silpa Pande, owner of Melt in Your Mouth. Originally from a beach town in India, I came to America to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science. At the time I had no baking experience.
One day, a friend gifted me a homemade cake. It was incredibly delicious and such a meaningful gesture at that point in my life. That experience was the starting point even though I didn’t realize it at the time. I just wanted to create moments like that for my friends and family too, so I learned to bake.
Then half a decade later, I was put on a dairy-free & soy-free diet while nursing my daughter. I became more aware of the food I was eating and its effect on my body and mind. I could not believe how difficult it was to find healthy, allergy-friendly desserts that were actually tasty. It was as difficult as going through labor!
When my daughter turned a year old, I quit a high-tech product marketing job and started Melt in Your Mouth for everyone who loves quality desserts as much as I do, but also wants their loved ones to eat clean foods made with real ingredients that fit into a balanced diet.
We started as a test concept at the Walpole Farmers Market and quickly expanded to selling at other farmers markets and local farms. We are known for our light and fresh buttercream-frosted cakes and cupcakes. Demand for our coffee cakes has surged recently too – much to our delight.
